Introdruction
First of all I want to thank our partners for the cooperation. Studying the different reports you´ll find out that there are different approaches in the field of prevention, but there are common ones, too.

Summary
Most schools are focussing on drugs, especially cigarettes (e.g. A, SF, CZ, PL). As a result they work together with doctors, psychologists, police etc. There are speeches, films and discussions at schools. Other schools think of prevention in a more general way, that means: Violence, bullying, taking drugs, too.

One example is B, but in their report they explain that it is a matter of the whole society. School cannot do too much, but of course, there are prevention programmes at the primary school.

In D – that means at the RS Barßel – they try to strengthen the self-confidence of the students. There is not too much warning about taking drugs etc. anyway.
This attitude might cause problems, they think. There is a similar discussion in Austria, too.

In Italy – Busto Arsizio they try to dramatize problems in the way of roleplays, theatre etc. There they work together with the parents, the same in Finland and Lithuania. A very good example is an agreement of rights responsibilities which the pupils have to sign in Uurainen (SF).

At most schools prevention work is done in normal lessons like biology, politics etc. At several schools prevention work is part of their curriculum. In CZ, Blansko, especially there is a responsible teacher for this programme. This year the main topic is the fight against smoking. There is a special programme, too in Uurainen (SF). Each year there is a different topic, which is discussed once a week (!) in the classes.
Main topic: smoking (again!)

In Barßel the form masters have one lesson a week to deal with the topic of prevention (7th + 8 th classes). Then they speak about the role of children in society, in family and in the class. There are different kinds of work (acting roleplay), games, discussions, informations. The teachers take part in a training programme.
In Austria there is a team responsible for the coordination of prevention.

As a result I´d like to summarize

- there are too different approaches towards this problem:
- information by police, doctors etc., vs. working with students in lessons
- fighting smoking is mentioned by almost all schools (and has priority in some)
- different situations between small countries like Lithuania and Italy e.g.

A big thank you for helping me to Jasmin Dwuletzki, Arthur Bunk, Jan Fredewess and Wesley Kozera.
